Think you know your brands?
Unevolved Brands is a showcase of well known logo?s that have been ?Unevolved? by replacing all the elements with circles, keeping only the positioning and palette consistent with the original. Its a progressive study on brand & logo simplification with more than a few benefiting from the ?Unevolved? touch. The fact that we are surrounded by these identities all day, every day and also joined with the fact that I myself am a bit of a ?Logo Spotter? found it surprisingly difficult to name more than a handful of the 125 listed. I thought it would be a similar test of visual recognition as reading a sncetene taht kepes the fsirt and lsat lretets of a wrod the smae but jbulems the rset... clearly not. This is a very cleaver study which I would implore you all to check out. Unevolved Brands by Graham Smith. |

iTunes 2.0
At the beginning of the month Apple announced the new version of iTunes... iTunes 10. With various minor feature updates the only major changes are the introduction of ?Ping?, Apples attempt at creating a social network and a re-designed version of the iTunes icon. The new icon seems to have drawn some controversy towards itself, on the one hand it makes sense to remove the compact disc as sales of CD?s have dwindled considerably, on the other, its just not very ?good looking?. Whether we like it or not the icon will stay and we will all get used to it eventually... maybe? It seems plenty of people however don?t agree and have set out to create their own versions of the iTunes 10 icon. Not only are they all far more beautiful than the original but they are all available to download for free. macstories.net have compiled the ten best icons on the web! |
