The Chase
This is a totally awesome animation by Philippe Gamer. At first I thought it was some sort of promo for Nissan but maybe just an unorthodox choice of vehicle to use, you would expect to see massive Hummers or tuned Gtr's. The ending is fantastic too. |

Skating, tricks, man in a banana suit and fireworks, all in a tunnel
This is an absolute new favorite of mine, It's beautifully produced, shot in such a way that makes you feel part of the scene and want to grab a skateboard to get involved... not only that, It includes probably the sweetest skate park I have ever seen, awesome costumes and tricks, people stacking it and, oh yeah, fireworks in a tunnel! The guys and girls in Vancouver certainly know how It's done. |

Impossible Present
Here is a fantastic animation short by Royale called 'Impossible Present'. Not only is it brilliantly done, the comedy elements and timing are played out with perfect precision. It gave me flashbacks to the Christmas just past, watching my one year old fruitlessly attacking his presents wrapping :) Check out more of Royale's work. |

Ducked and Covered: A public service announcementI have a thing about zombies films and the whole ?Walking Dead? genre in general, probably because it?s the only form of horror that works on me, why... because it could happen (Nah not really). With my love for Left 4 Dead, The Walking Dead and Dawn of the Dead I set to work on an instructional survival guide... until I found this on Vimeo. Produced by Nathaniel Lindsay, the film helps you decide on your post apocalypse wardrobe though to excellent uses for surplus human skulls. I now feel confident that I could survive the post apocalypse of a zombie outbreak. |

Hope for desk toys everywhereAddress is approximate A beautiful short animation from Tom Jenkins at Theory Films with a very creative use of Google Street View and some of his desk toys... I kind of feel bad for my own desk toys now! Accompanied by music from the amazing Cinematic Orchestra, I truly feel grateful for my freedom. |

No excusesWe have been so busy at Brilliant HQ recently that the blog has been completely neglected, six weeks without a post... it's just not on! To kick off I'm posting up two fantastic animations that will certainly tug at your heart strings, unless of course you have no soul. So sit back, enjoy, have a little cry and please bear in mind how much time and dedication were put into both of these shorts. Thought of you had Ryan Woodward drawing hundreds of frames by hand, 12 fps x 60 seconds x 3 minutes = 2,160 frames. |

Zombies have hearts too...Another awesome production from the guys at Media Design School in Auckland, New Zealand. I have been watching their work for a while now and become quite a fan. Rotting Hill is a zombie love story, brilliantly shot, well acted, funny and the effects... well, there are certainly a few 'how on earth did they do that' moments. Everything is a remix
Brilliant HQ has been a hive of mega busy activity over the last two+ months and I have had no time to browse a single scrap of internet... and this is my excuse for neglecting my blogging duties. With so much to catch up on and so much cool stuff to be seen and shared, it's tough to decide what to start with. This series of videos by Kirby Ferguson is called Everything is a Remix which explores copying, sampling, tweaking, thieving and general inspirational homages within the nature of ideas and creativity... fun right! These short films are extremely informative, nicely created and will probably blow what you thought to be 'an original concept' out the water. Visit the EVERYTHING IS A REMIX website to see the other parts. |
