Think you know your brands?
Unevolved Brands is a showcase of well known logo’s that have been ’Unevolved’ by replacing all the elements with circles, keeping only the positioning and palette consistent with the original. Its a progressive study on brand & logo simplification with more than a few benefiting from the ’Unevolved’ touch. The fact that we are surrounded by these identities all day, every day and also joined with the fact that I myself am a bit of a ’Logo Spotter’ found it surprisingly difficult to name more than a handful of the 125 listed. I thought it would be a similar test of visual recognition as reading a sncetene taht kepes the fsirt and lsat lretets of a wrod the smae but jbulems the rset... clearly not. I have found a great resource that showcases a lot of Coca-Cola advertising that not only includes commissioned work by a variety of artists and designers but also a selection of independent designers works. You can find a selection of can and bottle designs, limited editions, POS, billboards, wall paintings, posters and flyers, copywriting, radio, cinema and television commercials, web design and magazines ads. Web by colorCOLOURlover of colourlovers.com has put together an interesting report on the colors used in the top 100 brands around the world with some very interesting results, take a guess as to the dominant branding color, you may be surprised? According to Mark Zuckerberg; creator of Facebook, choose blue as the social networks brand color as he is color blind and its the only color he can see clearly.
