iPad juju

The iPad allows us to do many things, whether it be to watch and interact with media, utilise hundreds of thousands of apps, browse the web, send email or simply play games.

People are continually finding new ways to use the iPad as a promotional tool, but this video from Swedish magicians Charlie Caper and Erik Rosales, on behalf of the city of Stocklholm... is pretty awesome, combining seven iPads with a bit of sleight of hand and a live audience.

Catapault Madness

After spending way to many hours of my life than I wish to mention in my mission of completing Angry Birds (well, so far), I went looking for a new iPhone game and have found an absolute gem... Catapult Madness

Like angry birds its relatively simple in its premise where your only goal is to catapult one of your peasants from your castle which is being attacked to a neighboring castle for help, even still it had me sitting there for well over two hours just to complete the single level game.

Yes... it is only a single level game at this point but that hasnt stopped me from returning to it to try and smash my original score!

At the moment the game is FREE and I’m pretty sure it is going to be big very soon so go and grab it from the app store.

iTunes 2.0

New iTunes Logo 404

At the beginning of the month Apple announced the new version of iTunes... iTunes 10.

With various minor feature updates the only major changes are the introduction of ’Ping’, Apples attempt at creating a social network and a re-designed version of the iTunes icon. The new icon seems to have drawn some controversy towards itself, on the one hand it makes sense to remove the compact disc as sales of CD’s have dwindled considerably, on the other, its just not very ’good looking’.

Whether we like it or not the icon will stay and we will all get used to it eventually... maybe?

It seems plenty of people however don’t agree and have set out to create their own versions of the iTunes 10 icon. Not only are they all far more beautiful than the original but they are all available to download for free.

Magic Mouse

Apple Magic Mouse

Having worked with macs for well over 10 years you cannot imagine the joy I felt when Apple released the "Mighty Mouse" and I got my hands on one back in 2006, a nicely designed, usable mouse that had enough functionality to control major tasks just with the buttons on the side of the mouse + it had a scroll ball!

My enjoyment for the product quickly faded as I realised the side buttons became a hindrance more than helpful and the scroll ball was about as reliable as a tabloid horoscope, so far I have broken three or rather, I have had three of these that have broken just through light use.

Now Apple have brought out their "Magic Mouse", a fantastic little piece of kit that is intuitive and dynamic with its Multi-Touch technology. The major factor for me is that its design is more streamlined than the previous giving a more natural feel and less strain on your wrist as well as the removal of the scroll ball. Every action is done by a click or a gesture, to scroll or swipe you simply gesture over the mouse as you would with the Macbook or iPhone.

Mine is currently in the post but I cant wait to see how long it takes me to break this one!
